HEAT ENGINE
Heat engine is a device which operates by conversion of chemical energy into mechanical energy which is used to do mechanical work.Heat engines are classified into two types.
1)Internal combusion Engines(I.C Engines)
2)External combusion Engines(EC Engines)
Internal Combustion Engines
The combustion of fuel takes place inside the engine cylinder and produces the high thermal energy.
Example:Petro engines,Diesel engines
External Combustion Engines
The combusion of fuel takes place outside the engine and transfers the heat by a medium to operate the cylinder.
Example:Steam engine
